Nicholson of Upper Turkeyfoot Township died suddenly of a heart attack last Thursday afternoon at the home of his son, Jacob Nicholson, in Addison Twp., where he had gone six weeks ago to assist in farming. He was a son of Peter and Elizabeth (Myers) Nicholson and was born in Upper Turkeyfoot Twp. At the time of his death he was a retired employee of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, the Brotherhood of Railway Maintenance Workers and the I.O.O.F. Lodge. His wife died 32 years ago. Surviving are seven children: Mrs. Bruce W. Phillippi, Connellsville; Mrs. Edward Hahn, Johnstown; Earl O., Johnstown; Peter, Casselman; Jacob, Addison Twp., and Mrs. Thomas Jones, whose husband is stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C. He was a brother of John W. Nicholson of Somerset. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Casselman United Brethren Church by Rev. J. C. Moses of Rockwood. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Kingwood under the direction of Mills and Mickey, Rockwood morticians. Meyersdale Republican, June 8, 1944
