Nicholson, 81, of Acosta, died March 27, 1985, at Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin. He was born Feb. 20, 1904, in Clinton, Pa., son of the late Weldon and Sarah (Meyers) Nicholson. Preceded in death by sisters Lucartha Walker, Margaret Walker, Emma Burkholder and Mary King and brothers William and Elmer Nicholson. Survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Hazel Miller; three children: Melvin of Willow Grove, Pa.; Mrs. Loretta Stroke of Acosta; and Arnold of Stow, Ohio; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Brother of: George and Weldon Nicholson, both of Normalville; James of Ligonier; Irvin of Normalville RD 1; and Mrs. Clarence (Iva) Walker, Melcroft. A retired coal miner by occupation. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Samuel E.
