She was born Jan. 4, 1936 in Sugarloaf, a daughter of the late Thomas Lincoln and Evelyn Hall Lytle. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Wetone Diehl, Bethel Inks, Welda Close and Phyllia Lytle. Survived by her husband of 44 years, Virgil D. Nicholson; a son, Gerald "Jerry" Nicholson of Melcroft; daughters, Sandra Rank and her husband Stephen of Mill Run, Linda Bottomley and her husband William also of Mill Run, and Sharon Etling and her husband Jeffery of Connellsville; 3 grandchildren Melinda Bottonley of Mill Run, Tammi Barnhart of Connellsville, and Haven Purbaugh of Somerset; a special niece Diane Schrock and her husband Brian and thier children Adam and Ryan of Somerset; brothers, Wendell Lytle and his wife Cindy of Smithfield and David Lytle of Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Ruby was a graduate of the former South Union High School with the class of 1954. She was a member of the Sugarloaf Church and also attended the Millertown Community Church and the Indian Creek Baptist Church. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m., Monday and from 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Tuesday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday with Rev. David Morrison officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run. Daily American, January 3, 2000 [N0225]
