Nicholson, 78, of Confluence RD 1, died Aug. 19, 1985, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born April 28, 1907, in Stewart Township, a son of the late Frank and Alice (Ohler) Nicholson. Survived by his wife, Jessie (Burnsworth) Nicholson; four sons: William F. of Markleysburg; Carl E. and Gregory P., both of Confluence; and Clyde J. of Mill Run; three daughters: Faye Elaine Ritchey of Chalk Hill; Eva June Burnsworth of Ohiopyle; and Cynthia R. Nicholson of Fairfax, Va.; also, 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Thorpe of Ohiopyle; a stepsister, Oma Collins of Daylestown; and a step brother, Melvin Nicholson of Shippensburg. Preceded in death by two brothers. He was a former policeman of Confluence Borough and Stewart Township and was presently constable of Stewart Township. Friends are being received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment, Sands Cemetery. Daily American, August 21, 1985 [N0233]
