Born Dec. 21, 1920, in Acosta, he is the son of the late John Elmer and Mary Belle (Ogline) Nicklow. Also preceded in death by wife, Ellen Louise (Mock) Nicklow in 1997; brother, Wilbert Nicklow; sisters, Edna Stiffler, Lottie Stiffler, Margaret Avery, Naomi Russell, Alma Meyers, Betty Ash and Mary Louise Nicklow; and grandson, John Gregory Nicklow. Survived by children, Ralph C. Nicklow, married to the former Patricia Schmitz, Bowie, Md.; Janet L. Ebersole and husband, Michael R. Ebersole, Dunlo; John E. Nicklow, married to the former Patricia Cresswell, Somerset; and Debra S. Nist and husband, William R. Nist, Somerset. Brother of Robert Nicklow and Beatrice Nicklow. Also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Member of the Acosta Church of God, F.O.E. Aerie 1801, Somerset, the Laurel Ridge Sportsman Club. Retired in 1982 from the coal mines with 36 years of service. Served in the Navy aboard the USS Reno in the Pacific Fleet during World War II. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Duane R. Koontz Jr. officiating.
