He was born March 28, 1868, the son of John and Elizabeth (Ohler) Nicklow of Somerset County. His wife, Lena K. Lieberger Nicklow, preceded him in death. The following children survive him: Mrs. Ida Tressler, Garrett; Mrs. Bessie Anna Swindell, at home; Mrs. W. H. Lee, Confluence; George Nicklow, Garrett; Jack Nicklow, Shanksville, and Richard Nicklow, Quecreek. Surviving also are these sisters: Mrs. John Miller, Somerset; Mrs. John Christner, Ursina; Mrs. Levin Hinebaugh, Ursina; Mrs. A. I. Walters, Ursina. He was a resident of Garrett for about 40 years. He was a retired coal miner and had been in ill health for about three years. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at his home, Saturday, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Glen Keidel officiating. Interment in the Garrett cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, October 27, 1949
