Nicol, 80, of Charlestown Street, died May 7, 1983, in Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born in Lonaconing, MD., she was the daughter of the late Adam Smith and Maime (Barclay) Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald (Doc) Nicol. She is survived by two sons, Ronald A. Nicol, Eckhart, Md.; and William Q. Nicol, Cresaptown, Md.; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Shockey, of Lonaconing, Md.; Mrs. Betty Lou Dobrinsky, Morris Plains, N.J.; Mrs. Joyce Summers, Bedford Heights, Ohio; Mrs. Gloria Jean Minnick, Meyersdale; one brother, William Q. Smith, of Shaft, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Muir, Oakland, Md.; Mrs. Ethelda DeWall, of Lonaconing; Mrs. Anna Fairgrieve, Detmold; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Boal Funeral Home, where services were conducted in the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Synan officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery here.
