Niehenke, 71, of Somerset RD 2, died December 9, 1977, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born October 28, 1906, in Garrett, a son of William M. and Cora (Zimmerman) Niehenke. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Harold J.; twin brother, William; and one sister, Emma. He is survived by his wife, the former Myrtle Keyser; one son, Eugene of Somerset RD 2; and one daughter, Charolette Nelson of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a brother of John of New Stanton; Eugene of Lucisboro; Ralph of Ambridge; and Leroy of Baden. He was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Co. in Johnstown. He was a life member of the American Rifle Association of America. Friends are being received in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Chauncey J. Ickes officiating. Interment, Beam Cemetery. Daily American, December 12, 1977 [N0280]
