Nycum, aged 73, died Nov. 14, in Cottage Hospital, San Rafael, Cal. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Saylor of Wills Church, five miles east of Somerset. Her father was a veteran of the Civil War. In 1880 members of the Saylor family moved to Dixon, Ill., and later to Rising City, Neb., where the then Miss Ida was married to James C. Nycum, in September, 1885. In 1892 Mr. and Mrs. Nycum established a home in Colorado Springs. Wherever she moved, Mrs. Nycum became affiliated with the Lutheran Church. Mrs. Nycum is survived by her husband, one son and one daughter, Edna Peck. Three brothers, Prof. O. O. Saylor, of Somerset and Miami, Fla., Luther J., of Rising City, Neb., and William A. Saylor, of Somerset, also survive. Another brother was the late Virgil Saylor, former District Attorney of Somerset County. Meyersdale Republican, December 11, 1930
