    John Oakes, 92, Berlin, formerly of Stoystown, died Sept. 7, 2007 at Meadow View
  Nursing Center. Born Aug. 31, 1915, in Pittston, the son of Walter and Elizabeth
  (Langhorn) Oakes. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Blanche Henry; daughter,
  Margaret; brother, Richard; sisters, Mary and Margaret; and daughter-in-law, Candice.
  Survived by these children, Raymond and wife, Lila, Berlin; John and wife, Pearl,
  Stoystown; Walter and wife, Bonnie, Berlin; Ruth, Ligonier; Mildred Lenio and husband,
  Randy, Friedens; Larry and wife, Gay, Somerset; Thomas, Berlin; Carol Kemp and husband,
  Marc, Berlin. Also survived by 38 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren and five great
  great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic, Somerset.
  Family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin,
  where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Bishop Irvin J. Knieriem officiating.
  Interment Mount Nebo Cemetery, Champion. Memorial contributions may be given to Meadow
  View Nursing Center, 1404 Hay St., Berlin, PA 15530.
