  JOHNSTON-OAKES
  
  Sara K. Johnston-Oakes, 83, of Berlin, formerly of Stoystown and Somerset, died 
  Aug. 16, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center.  Born Oct. 12, 1919, in Bavard, 
  daughter of William and Jennie (Riehl) Johnson.  Preceded in death by parents; 
  first husband Clyde Johnston Sr. in 1980; an infant son; son William Johnston; 
  grandson John Fieg; granddaughter Rita Johnston; brother Eugene; and twin sister 
  Margaret Smeltzer.  Survived by her second husband, John Oakes; and these 
  children, Shelby Harmon of Stoystown; David, George and Clyde Johnston Jr. and 
  Helen Pensyl, all of Berlin; Donna Connors of Marion, Ohio; Donald Johnston and 
  Geraldine Harrington, both of Somerset, and Jessie Alice Steinrich; 28 
  grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Sister 
  of Anna Mae Dell of Greensburg, Dorothy Mercer of Ocean City, N.J., and Robert 
  Samuel Johnson of Latrobe.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 
  p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 1 
  p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Chauncey Ickes and Rev. Gary Anderson officiating.  Interment, 
  Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.  Instead of flowers, contributions may be given to 
  Shelby Harmon, 255 Lambertsville Rd., Stoystown, Pa. 15563 to assist with final 
  expenses.
