(Reckner) Oaks, 66, Hill Street, Jerome, died Aug. 5, 2003, at her home. Born May 3, 1937, in Jerome, daughter of Harry M. and Ada M. (Shroyer) Reckner. Preceded in death by parents and brother, James. Survived by husband of nearly 46 years, Robert; daughter Darcy A., married to Michael Yoder, Boswell; granddaughter, Lori A.; brother, Albert "Tub" married to former Ruth Rodeheaver, Jerome; sisters, Euldean, married to Robert "Moe" Shields, Jerome; Donna, married to Warren "Bussie" Shaffer, Hooversville; Janice Lint, Boswell; and Dorcas, married to James "Jessie" Garlesky, Hollsopple; sisters-in-law, Ethel Reckner, Holtwood, Pa.; Billie Sue Zapotosky, Reels Corner; and Betty Oaks, Hollsopple; brother-in-law, Jack Oaks, married to former Pauline Hoffman, Cairnbrook; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 1955 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. Seamstress for former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory in Boswell and Jerome for 15 years. A very dedicated and loyal member of Jerome Church of the Nazarene, the Jerome Firemen's and Legion auxiliaries, and Conemaugh Township Democratic Club. Also a member of S.O.A.R. and C.R.O.W. For many years Naomi helped organize picnics, parades and Memorial Day services in Jerome. She was very proud of her husband and brother for serving our country and in 1988 she saw the construction of a new war memorial in Jerome. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville. Friends also received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jerome Church of the Nazarene, the Rev. Robert D. Williams, Sr., officiating. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
