  O'BAKER
  
  Gladys K. O'Baker, 85, 403 Center St., Boswell, died Nov. 29, 1986, at Somerset 
  Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 23, 1901, in Hooversville, the daughter of Simon 
  P. and Elizabeth (Fryburg) Shaffer.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, 
  Joseph Howard, died Nov. 7, 1957; grandson, Brendon DeMarco; sisters, Erma 
  Thomas, Beulah Stanton, Muriel Thomas and half-sister Mabel Putman.  Survived by 
  these children: H. Vale, married to the former Anna Clayton, at home; Leah, wife 
  of Maxwell Martin, Perrysburg, Ohio; Lorraine, wife of Joseph Folton, Boswell Rd 
  1; Evan, married to the former Joyce Kaufman; and Karen, wife of Robert DeMarco, 
  both of Erie; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Sister of Ruth Benford, 
  Somerset RD 2. Lifelong member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.  Friends were 
  received Sunday evening and will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at 
  Hoffman funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 
  a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Warren J. Cravotta officiating.  Interment, Jenner 
  Crossroads Cemetery.
