Ober, 98, Richland Manor, formerly of Hooversville, died July 9, 1987, at Richland Manor. Born March 22, 1889, in Cygnet, Ohio, daughter of D.L. and Amanda (Lowe) Whitacre. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John; son, J. LeVan; daughter, Susan; four brothers and five sisters. Last surviving member of her family. Survived by son, Allan, married to the former Alyce Rosey of Hooversville; granddaughter, Mrs. Nathan (Sandra) Barkley; and great-grandson, Christopher, both of Berlin; also numerous nieces and nephews. Former school teacher, life member of Hooversville Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and was president of the Ladies Aid group for many years. Past president of Post 7565 Hooversville VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Also active in other community affairs. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Gerald L. Myers.
