Ober, 82, formerly of Derry, died April 21, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born Feb. 9, 1917, in Cairnbrook, Somerset County. Daughter of the late Charles F. and Clara (Rayman) Horner. Member of First United Methodist Church of Derry and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. Former bookkeeper for Ritchey and Ober Motors. Had worked at Keystone Laundry Co., Greensburg. Also member of Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Also preceded in death by husband, William A. Ober; her grandparents, Elmer and Sarah Rayman, who raised her; a brother, Rayman Horner; and two sisters, Althea Rollins and Georgiana Kotts. Survived by two sons, William J. Ober and his wife, Carol, of Greensburg RD 5 and Charles F. Ober and his wife, Frances, of Greensburg; four brothers: Robert Horner of Venus, Fla., Richard Horner of Berlin, Ronald Horner of Latrobe and Barry Horner of Iowa; five sisters: Mrs. Albert (Jeanetta) Schwalm of Derry RD 1, Alice Kathryn Bailey and Mrs. Herbert (Lois Jean) Nair, both of Somerset, Doris Robins of Florida and Shirley Freeman of Georgia; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received Thursday evening at the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today with the Rev. David D. Wilson Jr. officiating. Interment, Coles Cemetery, Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Martha Sunday School Class, c/o Derry First United Methodist Church, 313 N. Ligonier St., Derry.
