Born Sept. 12, 1947 in Salisbury, a son of Leona (McKenzie) Oester of Grantsville and the late Charles Oester. Preceded in death by brother, Edgar Oester and sister, Ada House. Survived by his wife of 31 years, Mona Lee (Horning) Oester and their children: Roseann, wife of Roger Wolfe, Jason Oester, all of Meyersdale; Annie, wife of James Finzel, Salisbury. Also survived by his grandchildren: Leann, wife of Joseph Lease, Cumberland; Cheryl and Jeremy Finzel, Salisbury; Zachary Hutter, Cumberland, great-grandson: Zachary Lease, Cumberland. He is also survived by these brothers and sisters: Dave Oester, and his wife, Ginger; Lois, wife of Harold Rugg; Clara Christner, Bonnie Minnick, all of Meyersdale; Chuck Oester, and wife, Judith, Salisbury, Linda, wife of Gordon House, Grantsville; and sister-in-law, Eileen Oester, Salisbury. He was employed at Rockwood Manufacturing, Rockwood, PA. His favorite hobbies included; gardening, tropical fish, and working out in the gym. Friends were received at the M. Ray Leckemby on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. He was taken to the Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church Monday at 10 AM to lie in state until 11 AM, time of service with Pastoral Assistant Cliff Miller officiating. Interment in the Union Cemetery.
