  Gerald Nicholson Oester, 83 of Meyersdale, died February 24, 2008 at Meyersdale Medical
  Center.
  He was born June 8, 1924 in Wadsworth, OH, son of the late Charles F. and Carrie E.
  (Nicholson) Oester. Also preceded in death by brothers, Karl Nelson Oester and Vernon
  Wayne Oester.
  Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Doris (Housel) Oester and these
  children: Gerald Oester and his wife Davideen, Somerset; Carolyn Gilbert, Sarasota, FL;
  Creed Oester and his wife Patty, Bunker Hill, WV; Karl Oester and his wife Anne Marie,
  Addison; John Oester and his wife Tracey, Bunker Hill; Thomas Oester, Winchester, VA;
  Martha, wife of Jim Gallagher, Meyersdale; and Maryann, wife of Douglas Puls, Levittown.
  Also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Jason Oester and his wife
  Nicole and children Jarek and Jayla; Charles Gilbert; Suzanne Gilbert; Nathan Oester;
  Brittany Oester; Samantha Oester; Jessica Oester; Adam Oester; James Gallagher Jr.;
  Timothy Gallagher; Nicholas Gallagher; and Nathanael Puls.
  He was a member of St. John' Lutheran Church, M.S., Accident, MD, and Zion Lutheran
  Church, Meyersdale.
  Gerald owned and operated Meyersdale Transfer Company and was a school bus driver for
  Meyersdale Area Schools for many years. He was a great storyteller, and his stories will
  be missed by all.
  A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in
  Meyersdale, with the Rev. Frank E. Harpster III officiating.
  The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Zion Lutheran Church, PO Box
  88, Meyersdale, PA 15552.
