She was born March 3, 1917, in Oakland, MD, daughter of the late William & Sarah (Casteel) Glotfelty. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Noah Matthew Pirolozzi. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Warren Clay Oester; one daughter, Sharon Livengood and her husband, Terry, Springs; and two granddaughters, Valerie Pirolozzi and her husband, Keith and their children, Paige Marie and Aiden Matthew Pirolozzi; Heather Livengood; one son, William "Hank" Oester and his wife, Linda, Salisbury, and step granddaughter, Sheli Gray and her husband, Major Jeff Gray and their daughters, Ashlin and Abigail. Mrs. Oester was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Grantsville, MD. She graduated from Catherman's Business School, Cumberland, MD and then was employed at Lou's Auto prior to her employment at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. This was where she met her husband, Warren. They were married August 23, 1947, and moved to Salisbury, where she worked at Meyersdale Manufacturing prior to the birth of their children. Josephine and Warren provided love and care to Tammy and Christine Puffinburg, Faith Pope and Sarah Wagner. In addition, they provided foster care to 16 children. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD Services were conducted in the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel J. Whitacre officiating.
