Ohler, 64, of Meyersdale, died Jan. 27, 2002 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born July 6, 1937 in Meyersdale, a son of Pauline (Mishler) Ohler, Meyersdale, and the late George Clay Ohler. Survived by his wife, the former Rose Marie Bowman, and seven children; Darlene, wife of Fred Swentzel, West Union, W.Va., Evalene Miller, Meyersdale, Dale N. Ohler and his wife, Debbie, Meyersdale, Sharon wife of David Capretta, Rustburg, Va., Robyn, wife of Scott Lockard, Wickliffe, Ohio, Connie wife of Daniel Burley, Meyersdale, and Kevin Ohler, and his wife Judy, Salisbury. A brother of Fay A. Wentworth, Meyersdale, and Joan D., wife of Dewey Jones, Meyersdale. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A member of the Glade City Church of God. Galen was a local storyteller, historian, and he loved gardening and taking care of his orchard. He authored a book, "Ghost Stories From Somerset County and Beyond" and he often was a guest speaker at the Meyersdale Public Library and at local organizations. He was one of the founding members of the Berlin Whiskey Rebellion organization. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Service will he conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Glade City Church of God, with the Rev, Milton Morris and the Rev. Paul Middleton. Interment. Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.
