Ohler, 75, of Pompey Hill Road, Stoystown, went to be with the Lord Aug. 23, 2002 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born July 16, 1927 in Wood, Pa., son of Alexander Sr. and Nina (Mitchell) Ohler. Preceded in death by parents, brother Alex Jr., and grandson David Dupont Jr. Survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Mary Lou Emerick, and these children: Rev. Rodney A., married to the former Kathy L. Mitchell, of Newmanstown, Dennis J., married to the former Gwendolyn Bowlby of Somerset, Terry L., married to the former Phyllis J. Spory, and Tracy A., married to Christopher M. Saunders, all of Stoystown, and Nancy E., married to Howard O. Valentine of Friedens; grandchildren, Kevin and Wendy Stutzman, Rachel, Ryan, Justin, and Malorie Ohler, Lori and Jason Krause, Christopher II, and Dakota Saunders, and Kimberly Dupont; great-grandchildren, Chasity [sic] Dupont, Alexandria, Jasmine and Tyler Krause; also a brother, Robert L., of Springfield, W.Va.; sisters, Cinda Emerick of Fairhope Dolly Smith of Stoystown, and Dorothy Cottle of Hyndman; numerous nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law, Mary Custer Emerick, of Hyndman. World War II Army veteran, and retired coal miner with 35 years at Island Creek Coal Co. Member of Kantner Assembly of God, U.M.W.A. Local 2410, Robert P. Hite Post 257 American Legion, Stoystown. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Marty Critchfield and Rev. James Hodges officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park with military honors.
