OHLER Norman E. Ohler, 65, Dunlo, died October 16, 1988, at Memorial Hospital. He was born March 13, 1923, in Mine 42, son of George Sr. and Dorothy (Barnhart) Ohler. He was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Carol; brothers: Joseph, William and George Jr. "Bud"; and sister, Ruth Wilderman. He is survived by widow, former Isabelle Postgate; and these children: Diana, wife of Walter Mazur, Cresson; Simon, married to former Beverly Plummer, Llanfair; George, married to former Mariam Blough, Llanfair; Betty, wife of Dave Hadix, Hooversville; and John, married to former Lori Shaffer, Mineral Point; also 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was a brother of Sadie Valentine, Hollsopple; Polly Pierre and Mildred Gratis, both of Windber; John, Berlin; Kathryn Toreck, Burlington NJ; Clarence, Windber RD2; and Margaret Walters, Dunlo. He was a retired miner; Navy veteran of World War II; member of UMWA; Dunlo Post 517, American Legion, Dunlo Bowling League; and Windber Sportsman's Association. Friends were received at Homer J. George Funeral Home, Salix, where services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev Kevin R. Haley, officiating. Interment, Dunmyer Cemetery. The Republic October 20, 1988 [O0176]
