Born Dec. 19, 1922 in Boswell. Preceded in death by parents, John and Christina (Remz) Omerzo, infant daughter, brothers: Thomas, James and Frank Omerzo and sister, Mary Mullen. Survived by wife the former Violet June (Ross) to whom he was married 50 years. Son, John W. Omerzo married to the former Jean Ann Mikolich of Acosta and granddaughter, Jodi Lynn Omerzo. Brother of Mrs. Merle (Ann) Shaffer Sr. of Acosta. Louis Omerzo of Cortland, Ohio, Mike Omerzo of Somerset, Mrs. Donna Jean Gates and Robert Omerzo both of Cortland, Ohio. Member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Edie, VFW Post #554, American Legion Post #181, Jenner Rod & Gun Club. Life member of Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid golfer and bowler. U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Had owned and operated Johnny's Barber Shop in Somerset for 17 years from 1954 to 1971. An employee of Beckwith Machinery Co. retiring in 1979 with eight years of service. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday with Rev. Barry K.
