Survived by wife Phyllis B. (Bowden) Onderka. Also survived by two daughters, Nancy L. of Falls Church, Va.; and Carol L. of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one son, James E. of San Francisco, Calif.; and his mother, Eleanor Onderka of Avalon, Pa. Born in Pittsburgh, he had been a resident of Somerset for seven years. A 1952 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Onderka had a family practice in Pittsburgh for 13 years. In 1965, he served his residency in radiology at Georgetown University. In 1970, he became a member of the American College of Radiology. Also in 1970, he joined the staff of Lower Bucks Hospital, Bristol, Pa. until 1978, when he became Chief of Staff and head of the Radiology Department at Somerset Community Hospital. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the Pa. Medical Society, and past president of Somerset County Medical Society. Friends will be received Friday evening, 6-9 p.m. at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road, Richboro, Pa. Funeral service Saturday, 11 a.m. at Wrightstown Friends Meeting House, Route 413 and Penns Park Road, Wrightstown, Pa., the Rev. Larry V. Smoose officiating. Interment, Friends Burial Ground. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Bucks County Chapter, Bucks County, Pa.
