O'Neal, 68, Everett RD 1, died May 7, 1984, at Windber Hospital. He was born in Bedford County, Feb. 18, 1916, a son of John T. and Betty (Angel) O'Neal. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Emerick) O'Neal; two daughters and two sons: Donna, wife of George W. Schenck Jr., and Norma, wife of Carl H. Perks, both of Somerset; Raymond, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and Gerald, Shiremanstown, Pa.; seven grandsons; and one granddaughter. Also two brothers, Herbert, Knoxville, Tenn.; Herman, Beans Cove, Pa.; five sisters, Ethel Cessna, Beans Cove; Neva Ketterman, Bedford; Lelia Trail, Everett; Salenah Messersmith, Clearville; and Bertha Kerns, Titusville, Fla. O'Neal retired seven years ago from Spector Freight Co. He was a member of the Bedford Elks Club, Bedford County Sportmens, Friends Cove Sportsmens, New Baltimore Sportsmens Club, and life member of the Bedford VFW and American Legion. Navy veteran of World War II and served in action in the European, African, Middle East, Asiatic, Pacific and American Theaters. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family by the Rev. William DeHass. Interment, Bedford County Memorial Park Cemetery will full military rites at graveside. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the hospice unit of Windber Hospital.
