  ONSTEAD
  
    Bob Dean Onstead, 60, of 401 Eastwood Drive, Newport News, Va., formerly
  of Stonycreek Township, died May 16, 1993, at Regional Medical Center,
  Newport News.  He was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Somerset, son of the late
  Charles L. and Catherine (Croner) Onstead.  Survived by his wife, Joanne;
  daughters: Vickie J. Downs, Spanaway, Wash.; Cindy J. Onstead, Hopewell,
  N.J., and Bobbie S. Hart of Gloucester, Va.; sisters: Ivaline "Liny" Lehman
  of Somerset RD 5; Nancy Custer of Berlin RD 1, and Judy Weyant of Friedens
  RD 2.  He retired from the U.S. Army in 1980 as sergeant major with 25
  years of service.  He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Army of
  Occupation Medal, Germany; Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal,
  Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm, Army Commendation Medal with two oak
  leaf clusters, Meritorious Unit Commendation and Bronze Star Medal.  He was
  a member of Aerie 1299, FOE, Carlisle, and More Light Lodge 874, F&AM, in
  Germany.  Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. Wednesday until Masonic
  service at 7 p.m. by Somerset Lodge 358, F&AM, followed by funeral service
  on Wednesday evening at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, Rev. William H.
  Snyder officiating.  Interment, Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday. 
  Memorial contributions may be given to Leukemia Society of America in Bob's
