  ERNEST ONSTEAD
  
    Ernest E. "Beecher" Onstead, 67, Berlin RD 1, died March 7, 1977, at
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 8, 1909, in Stonycreek Township, he
  was a son of Christ E. and Annie (Ross) Onstead.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
    He is survived by his widow, the former Ethel Weigle, and these children:
  Edward, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Paul (Betty) Simmons, Berlin RD 4; and James,
  Somerset RD 5; also eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    He was a brother of Charles, Central City RD 1; Elmer, Bedford; and Miss
  Nettie, Everett.  His death ended a marriage union of 42 years.
    He was a retired coal miner, carpenter and PennDOT employe [sic], 
  member of Faith Lutheran Church; Somerset Aerie F.O.E.; and Shanksville
  Volunteer Fire Company.
    Funeral services will be held Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev.
  Charles J. Hartbauer officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial
  Park.  Arrangements by Charles R. Deaner Funeral Home.
