  ETHEL R. ONSTEAD
  
    Ethel R. Onstead, 74, Berlin RD 1, died Jan. 30, 1984, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.
    She was born June 15, 1909, in Stonycreek Township, a daughter of Harvey
  and Clara (Suder) Weigle.
  She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Ernest E. "Beecher" Onstead;
  brothers: Melvin, Ernest and Glenn; and a great-grandson.
    She is survived by these children: Edward, married to Janet Darr, Los
  Gatos, Calif.; Mrs. Paul (Betty) Simmons, Berlin RD 4; James, married to
  Martha Phillippi, Somerset RD 5; eight grandchildren and four
  great-grandchildren.
    She was a sister of: Myrtle Fritz, Somerset; Nevi and Ray, both of
  Friedens RD 2; William and Harry, both of Berlin RD 1; and Mrs. Edward
  (Pauline) Baumgardner, Friedens.  She was a member of Faith Lutheran
  Church, Somerset, Rebekah Lodge 317 and Somerset Grange 1697.
    Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Remains will be moved to Faith Lutheran Church to
  lie in state from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev.
  Charles J. Hartbauer officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
