  ONSTEAD
   
  Merle V. Onstead 73, of Central City RD 1, died Oct. 4, 1975, at Somerset 
  Community Hospital.  Born April 13, 1902, in Stonycreek Township, son of Crist A. 
  and Annie M. (Ross) Onstead.  Preceded in death by parents, one brother and four 
  sisters.  Survived by widow, the former Gladys Walker and the following children: 
  Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Labute of Berlin; Mrs. Bruce (Helen) Conn of Berlin RD 
  4; Alfred of Central City RD 1; Mervin of Boswell RD 2; Mrs. Earl (Linda) Snyder 
  of Berlin RD 1; 17 grandchildren add [sic] one great grandson.  Brother of 
  Charles, Central City RD1; Miss Nettie, Everett; and Elmer, Bedford.  Retired 
  sawmiller and farmer.  Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, and 
  Somerset Aerie F.O.E.  Family received friends Sunday evening and will receive 
  friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday (today) at Charles R. Deaner Funeral 
  Home, Stoystown, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the 
  Rev. George E. Buechner assisted by the Rev. Marlin A. Miller officiating. 
  Interment, Glade Union Cemetery.
