Opel, 80, of Accident RD 2, Md., died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1985, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. She was born in Granstville, MD, Aug. 24, 1905, a daughter of the late John Opel and Margaret (Zehner) Opel. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, at The Cove, where she taught Sunday School for many years and belonged to the Ladies Aid. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Wiedenheft, Sandusky, Ohio; Mrs. Leota Boltz, Pittsburgh; the Misses Esther Opel and Claudine Opel, with whom she resided; eight nieces and nephews and ten great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. Services were conducted at St. John's Lutheran Church Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev.
