An autopsy confirmed the presence of a second aneurism. He was a son of John A. and Ida (Engle) Opel and was born May 5, 1908, in Summit Mills. He was active in sports at Meyersdale High School and at Ashland College. His later employment included army service in World War II and helping to build and maintain gas service in the southern United States. He is survived by his widow, Rosine (Kline) Opel; a step son, David Pierce of Quaker City, Ohio, and a sister, Margaret (Opel) Witt of Summit Mills. Funeral services were Sunday, June 12 in Quaker City, Ohio at the Eberle Funeral Home following Masonic services Saturday, June 11. Interment, Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. The Rev.
