Orban, 68, of West Catherine St., Somerset, died March 8, 1983, at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born April 27, 1914, in Onnalinda, Pa., son of the late Frank A. and Mary (Halasz) Orban. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Daley. Survived by his wife, the former Jean E. Miller; a daughter, Stephanie of Somerset; and a granddaughter, Bonnie Anne; two brothers, Attorney Frank A. Orban Jr. of Felgar Road, Somerset, and J. Eugene Orban of Central City. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church; member and past commander of Post 554, VFW; past commander of Somerset County Council VFW; past commander District 23, VFW; member of FOE; Somerset Lions Club; Central Pennsylvania Police Officials Association; Oldtimers Baseball Association and life member of Hooversville Volunteer Fire Department. A veteran of World War II. Served as Somerset County Prothonotary for 12 years. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Samuel Tomaselli officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
