Orner, 55, of Salisbury RD 1, died May 24, 1972, at his home. Born in Avilton, Md., he was a son of the late Samuel and Mabel (McKenzie) Orner. An employee of the S. J. Groves and Sons Construction Company, he was an associate member of the Salisbury American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of the LOOM Lodge 76, Meyersdale, and FOE Aerie 965, Falls Creek. Surviving are his wife, the former Viola Wilt; a son, Roger Orner, Meyersdale; five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Miller, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Helen Hollada, Salisbury RD 1; Mrs. Shelva Conn, Meyersdale; Mrs. JoAnn Weimer, Fort Waye, Ind,; and Mrs. Shirley Anderson, Dickerson, Md,; 21 grandchildren; also a brother, Harry Orner, Salisbury RD 1; and two sisters, Mrs. Nelle Harding, Salisbury; and Mrs. Margaret Baer, Salisbury RD 1. Funeral service was conducted at Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, Saturday monring with Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interman in Salisbury Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican June 1, 1972 [O0277]
