"Larry" Orslene, 71, loving husband and devoted father and grandfather of Somerset died June 17, 2003, at his residence. Born Sept. 5, 1931 in Orient, Fayette County, the son of Louis and Frances (Cokomatch) Orslene. Preceded in death by parents, brother Louis Orslene Jr. Survived by wife, the former Joanne Semonick, to whom he was married 43 years; children Mrs. Jon. A. (Laurie) Wahl of Somerset, David M. Orslene, married to the former Carolyn D'Aniello of Somerset, Daniel S. Orslene of Somerset; granchildren Lauren and Landon Wahl; Matthew and Katelyn Orslene; brother William Orslene of Warren, Ohio; sister Patty Orslene of Mansfield, Ohio. A member of St. Peter's Catholic Church; 1949 graduate of Redstone High School, U.S. Army veteran of Korean War, Fraternal Order Police Lodge 57, 1957 graduate of Pa. State Police Academy and served as a Pa. State Policeman until his retirement in 1991. Larry centered his life around his family, wife, son Danny, children, and especially around his grandchildren. He traveled countless miles and spent thousands of hours faithfully attending all of their activities for which he derived his greatest joy. He will be sadly missed by all the lives he touched. Friends were received Wednesday and will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a Vigil for the deceased will be 3:45 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset with the Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli Celebrant. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
