  Mrs. Ruth E. Oswalt, 89, 421 Center St., Boswell, died March 26, 1986, at
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 27, 1897, in Phillipsburg, daughter
  of George and Hannah (Pilkington) Hartshorn.  Preceded in death by parents;
  husband, J. Clyde, owner-publisher of the former "Boswell News", who died
  April 18, 1957; sisters, Esther Custer and Alice Sprowls; brother George; and
  infant brother; Clarence.  Survived by sisters: Audrey, widow of John
  Baughman, Boswell; Marguerite, wife of Victor Landis, Pompano Beach, Fla.;
  also numerous nieces and nephews.  Member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church,
  Boswell; Wimodausis Rebekah Lodge 217, Somerset; and Laurel Mt. Senior
  Citizens.  Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home,
  Allegheny St., Boswell, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday,
  the Rev. Jesse E. Wolf.  Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.  Rebekah
  service at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
