Born Dec. 6, 1912, in Hagevo, Paint Township, son of Fredrick and Elizabeth (Burkett) Ott. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, former Rhoda Rose, on May 17, 1982; sister, Clara Shaffer; and brothers, Clinton and Alvin. Survived by wife, former Bernice Berkey, children, Richard, married to former Linda Raimer, Northampton; Martin, married to former Ruth Harshberger, Sugar Maple Avenue, Hollsopple; Owen F., married to former Virginia Miller, Johnstown; Judith, wife of Mike Spratt, Elkhart; and Rodney L., Moonlight Park Road; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; Brother of Howard Ott and Edna Frye, both of Bridgewater, Va.; Helen Gross, Highspire; Minnie Barkley, Davidsville; and Virginia Wagoner, Lafayette, Ind. Fred was a kind and giving person who lived a simple life. Former member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren and Ridge Church of the Brethren. Member of Scalp Level Church of the Brethren. Retired farmer. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren where remains will lie in state from 10 a.m. Thursday until hour of service at 11 a.m., the Revs. Beverly Good and Ronald St. Clair.
