Born Jan. 9, 1922, in Ralphton, son of Anthony and Frances (Esposita) Pacifici. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Catherine Pacifico, died June 19, 1980, and brother, Joseph Pacifici. Survived by these children: Patricia Pacifico, Harrisburg; Anthony, married to the former Marilyn Walker, Harrisburg; JoAnn Pacifico, Basking Ridge, NJ.; Joseph, married to the former Brenda Stefanik, Somerset; Mary, wife of John Mostoller, Laytonsville, Md.; and Mark, Germantown, Md. 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Aubree Ann, Daniel and Cassandra Jo Pacifico and Jessica Sapalio. Brother of Julie, wife of Louis Lakatos, Allen Park, Mich.; Dorothy, wife of Joseph Mash, Windber, Lucy, wife of Charles Fatula, Johnstown; Frank Pacific, married to the former Betty Hoffman, Dearborn, Mich., and John Pacifici, married to the former Gloria Bailey, Dearborn, Mich. Member of St. John's Catholic Church, Acosta; Somerset Post 554, VFW; Somerset Post 181, American Legion; Western Clinton County Sportsmen; Jenner Rod and Gun Club; New Baltimore Sportsmen, and USWA Local 1536, Latrobe. President of Ralphton Hunting Camp. Retired employee of Latrobe Steel with 25 years of service. A 1941 graduate of former Boswell High School. Army veteran of World War II, having spent 33 months in Europe, Africa, and Middle East. Served in 5th Army 540th Engineers. Recipient of Unit Citation for Invasion of Anzio Beach. Two Purple Hearts, Distinguished unit badge, European, African, Middle Eastern Service Medal with 6 Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead. One of the liberators of Dachau Concentration Camp. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Church, Father Raymond Karr. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
