Page Sr., 59, of Shanksvillle died Oct. 5, 1978, at the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born April 9, 1919, in Conemaugh, a son of Elijah and Lila (Morgan) Page. Preceded in Rath by parents; and brother, Harold. Survived by widow, the former LaVeme Smith; and two sons, William Jr. of Mechanicsburg and Robert, at home. Brother of James P. of Friedens. He was a retired barber; army veteran of World War II having received seven battle stars in the European Theater of Operations; 1st Sergeant, 845th Engineer Battalion; member of the Shanksville United Methodist Church; Somerset VFW and American Legion; National DAV; Shanksville Sportsmen's Association; NRA; Shanksville Sewer Authority and recently retired from the Shanksville Stoneycreek School Board. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Deaner Funeral Home in Stoystown where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Marlin A. Millet officiating.
