Palko, 82, Garrison Road, Johnstown, died July 11, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 26, 1917, in Vintondale, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Dargo) Palko. Survived by wife, Margaret E. (Bakos) Selak-Palko, to whom he was married for 48 years, and sons: R. Daniel Selak, married to Joy (Hubbard), Friday Harbor, Washington; Joseph G. Selak, married to Janice (Glasgow), Johnstown; Rev. John J., married to Gail (Kreger), New Centerville; Michael, Mechanicsburg, and Michel, married to Aniko (Abram), Clearwater, Fla. Also 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Brother of Paul, Nanty Glo; Sarah Campbell, Mich.; and Ann Brower, Ohio. Member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner. World War II Army veteran. Member of UMWA Local 1386. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Home Inc., Nanty Glo, and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Rev. Richard Duerr and Rev. John Palko (Joseph's son), officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph's memory to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
