He was born in Russia Feb. 17, 1905, a son of the late Si and Rebecca (Mowerman) Pariser. His wife the former Rae Olesker, died in 1960. He was owner and president of The Manhattan, one of Cumberland, Md.'s, leading men's clothing stores, located at Baltimore and South Liberty Streets, where he first went into business selling hats in 1929. He came to Cumberland, Md., from Pittsburgh, where he had been employed by the Manhattan Hat Shops chain, and opened his own store in spite of the uncertain economy months before the stock market crash and the start of the Great Depression. He was a member of the Retail Merchants Association of America, the Greater Cumberland Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Cumberland Business Association, Cumberland Country Club, and B'er Chaylm Temple. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs: Barbara Zoslow, Silver Spring, and Mrs. Marla Andrews, Potomac, Md.: three sons, Rodney L. Pariser, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Dr. David B. Pariser, Washington, D.C.; Ned. D. Pariser, Cumberland, Md.; a brother, Sidney Pariser, with whom he was associated in business; two sisters, Mrs. Fay Wolf and Mrs. Pearl Somach, both of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
