All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ----------------------------------------------- Parkinson, Margaret Isabelle 11/18/05 Daily American Margaret Isabelle Parkinson, 94, went home to her Lord and Savior and joined her beloved husband, Stanley in Heaven on Nov. 26, 2005, at The Patriot. Totally blind, she carried her cross with courage and grace for five years. Isabelle was born in Baltimore, Md. Feb. 2, 1911, the daughter of the late Margaret Lee and Herman Runge. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley, a Wheeling banker and her brothers, Herman Runge, Edmund Runge, Charles Runge, Frederick Runge, Francis Runge and James Runge. Isabelle is survived by her devoted daughter, Ann Lynne, married to Allen R. Graham, Somerset; her grandson, Allen Parkinson (Tad) Graham and fiancˇ, Gretchen Miller, both of Pittsburgh; her sister, Helen Runge Staylor, Spring Grove, and her tender, loving caregivers, Norma Johnson, Denise Garland, Sue Caldwell and Debbie Trent, all of Somerset and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Baltimore. After their marriage in 1930, she and Stanley moved to Wheeling, W.Va. Following her husband's death in 1975, she came to Somerset to be near her daughter. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Life member of Somerset Humane Society. Former member of Fortnightly Club and the Garden Club. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle fan and played the organ; all of which ceased when she lost her sight. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where vigil for the deceased will be held at 2 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Rev. Msgr. Samuel J. Tomaselli celebrant. Immediately following, she will be taken to Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, W.Va. and laid to rest beside her husband. "Well done, good and faithful servant." In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Humane Society, P.O. Box 182, Somerset, would be deeply appreciated.
