Born Nov. 19, 1914 in McKeesport, the daughter of Katherine (Kellerman) and Peter Ulm. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 54 years, James H. Parmiter on Sept. 13, 1986; sisters, Alice U. McLean Marie U. Brown and Dorothy R. Ulm; and brother, John "Dink" Ulm. Survived by children, James D. and wife Nancy J. (Light), Springfield; Jon and wife, Karen (Barlow), Conneaut Lake; daughter, Suzanne P., wife of Lance C. Sturni, Somerset. Also survived by grandchildren, James Victor Parmiter and wife, Jan (Pollock); David Baird Parmiter; Kelley Suzanne (Opfar), wife of William Keane; Jonathan Allen Opfar and wife, Patti Jo (Nelson); Mechael Ruth (Parmiter), wife of Robert Golenberke; and Jon Kyle Parmiter and wife, Audra (Lasecki); 11 great-grandchildren, Kelly Elizabeth and James Owen Parmiter; Jennifer Lynn and Dana Victoria Parmiter; Tyler Patrick and Kyle Suzanne Keane; Allyson Elizabeth and Lindsay Victoria Golenberke; and Chase Nicholas, Jacob Kyle and Faith Emily Parmiter. A 1932 graduate of McKeesport High School; active member of the Somerset Retired and Senior Volunteer Program; member of the senior citizens of Elizabeth Township, and a lover of life and family. Ruth has donated her body to the Humanity Gift Registry of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. At the request of the family and to honor Ruth's wishes there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Anyone wishing to remember Ruth may make a donation to the charity of choice in her name.
