JOHN B. PARNELL

  Funeral services for John B. Parnell, 88, who died at his home in Confluence 
Wednesday, July 6, were held at the Black Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 
p.m.
  Mr. Parnell was the son of the late Thomas Perry and Lavalle (Bowlin) Parnell.   
When a young man he married Ellen Altfather, who preceded him in death 19 years 
ago.  He operated a grist mill from 1896 until 1931, retiring when his health 
became impaired.
  He is survived by five children, Elizabeth, Edgar and Herman of Confluence, 
and Merle and Russell at Clairton, and by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-
grandchildren.
  The Rev. J. V. Guss of the Lutheran Church officiated.  Burial was made in the 
Addison Cemetery.
