(Shorty) 05/03/07 Daily American Clyde S. (Shorty) Patterson, 84, Somerset, formerly of Garrett, died May 2, 2007 in Patriot Manor, Somerset. He was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Garrett, a son of the late Ward C. and Elizabeth (Simpson) Patterson. He is survived by his widow Mary (Patton) Patterson, Somerset; and these children, Terry S. Tressler and his wife, Gail (Johnson), LaVale, Md.; and Judy, wife of Norman Harvey Jr., Somerset; three grandchildren, Douglas Shaulis, Terri Marsteller and John Jason Tressler; and a great grand child, Drew Michael Marsteller. He is also survived by his sister, Ellen, wife of Cecil Beachy, Somerset; a niece, Joan Popovich, Berlin. Clyde operated Clyde (Shorty) Patterson's Service Station, Garrett. He was a faithful member of the Garrett United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for 20 years. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Marlin Miller, pastor, officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery, Garrett .
