  Roy L. Patterson Jr., 68, of Friedens, formerly of Jerome, died Feb.
  17 1999, at home.  Born Dec. 17, 1930, in Rockport, Missouri. Son of
  Roy L. Sr. and Elsie E. (Potthast) Patterson.  Preceded in death by
  parents and sister, Mary.  Survived by former wife, Irene (Brown)
  Patterson of Stoystown RD, and children: Janell A. Patterson,
  Friedens; Janette K. Patterson of Dallas, Texas., and Roy L. III of
  Pittsburgh.  Grandchildren: Brenda, Charles, Jacob and Joshua.  Sister,
  Stella, married to Jack Stevens, Kent, Wash.; sister-in-law, Dorothy,
  married to Jay Lape, Somerset.  Also several nieces and nephews,
  including Kimberly Lape, Michelle Stevanus and Jay Lape Jr.  Member of
  Teamsters Union.  Former truck driver and construction worker.  Navy
  veteran of Korean War.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service
  will be held at noon Saturday, Rev. John  Buchko officiating.
  Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery, near Jerome.
