  Arthur Merle Patton, 65, of 800 S. Gerald Drive, Newark, Del., died
  Aug. 15, 1995, at Southern Chester County Medical Center, West Grove.
  Born Sept. 2, 1929, in Confluence.  Preceded in death by his parents,
  Arthur Van and Daisie B. (Hull) Patton.  Survived by his wife, Pauline
  (MacKenzie) Patton, Newark; two sons: Buddie Lee Patton, Newark;
  William Keith Patton, Oxford; three daughters: Linda Louise Hanna of
  Nine Points, Lancaster County; Renee Susette Fulton of Oxford;
  Cynthia Jane Ward of Jay, N.Y.; two stepdaughters: Deborah M.
  Shortlidge of West Grove and Valerie M. Boyd of Oxford; six
  granddaughters, six step-grandchildren.  Brother of Warren Lee Patton
  of Bradford County; four sisters: Geraldine Pritts and Jean Holly,
  both of Rockwood; Alma Marie Hutsler of Palm Desert, Calif.; Gail
  Kirk of Vermington, Wash.  A salesman for Walters Tire Service for 18 years.
  Founded J & L Tire Service, Inc., in Chatham in 1982.  Served as
  president of J & L Tire Service, Inc. until his retirement in 1993.
  Presently owned and operated by his two sons.  Member of Oxford
  Masonic Lodge 353, F&AM; First Church of God, Somerset.  Viewing from
  7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Edward L. Collins Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine
  St, Oxford, Pa.  Private service and interment.  In lieu of flowers,
  donations may be made in his memory to Southern Chester County
  Intensive Care Unit, 1015 West Baltimore Pike, West Grove Pa. 19390.
