GEORGE PATTON Mrs. Ruth (Folk) Patton, 76, of Akron, Ohio, died Oct. 25, 1972, at her home following a year of poor health. Her health deteriorated after suffering a stroke in 1968. Born May 22, 1896, on the "Stonington" farm in Elk Lick Township, she was a daughter of Ephraim S. and Maria (Crossen) Folk. She attended the local school and prepared to teach. She taught several years in the Thomas School. With the outbreak of World War I, she went to Akron, attended Actual Business College and was employed by the B. F. Goodrich Company. Her parents sold their farm and moved to Akron. Mrs. Patton was later associated with The Patton Motor Trucking Company of Akron. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Patton; two sisters, Salome Glotfelty and Lilly Patton; and three brothers. Elmer, John and Charles Folk. Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Iva Trogdon of Chesterland, Ohio; and Mrs. Hutt Geissinger of Orland Park, Ill.; three granddaughters, one grandson, five great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and distant relatives in Akron and Salisbury. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Akron. Funeral service was held at Stampfle Memorial Home, Oct. 27, with Dr. William C. Nelson, retired minister of Trinity, officiating.
