Born Aug. 25, 1918, in Meyersdale, a son of the late Calvin and Leora M. (Baer) Paul. Also preceded in death by his first wife, Freda E. (Conner) Paul in 1977, and his second wife, Shirley J. (Baer) Paul in 1998; brothers, Clarence, Raymond and Elbert; infant son, David and stepson, Glenn Jewell. Survived by a son, Garry L. Paul Sr. and his wife, Peggy, Meyersdale; two daughters, Shirley M. (Paul) Kiser and her husband, Byron, Meyersdale; Diana L. (Paul) Knopsnyder and her husband, Barry, Berlin; two stepsons, Larry Baer and his wife, Tammy, Meyersdale, and Clarence Baer and his wife, Roxann, Meyersdale; step-daughter, Linda (Baer) Stein and her husband, Steve, Phoenixville and stepdaughter- in-law, Marilyn Jewell, Ellerslie, Md.; also four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 14 step grand-children and four step great-grandchildren. A brother of Lawrence Emerson Paul, Meyersdale and Catherine (Paul) Beeman, Michigan. Homer retired from Penn Pocahontas Coal in 1982 and was a self-employed farrier. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army World War II and he served two years in India. A life member of VFW Post 3504, and American Legion Post 112. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Thomas Horner officiating.
