Paulson, 99, of 5708 Boynton Place, Richmond, Va., formerly of Somerset and Bedford counties, died July 16, 1973, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born June 8, 1874, in the Netherlands, he was the son of John and Louise (Pam) Paulson. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Von Alts Paulson, in 1966. Also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Survived by these children: Mary Paulson of 5708 Boynton, Place, Richmond, Va., with whom he resided; Walter Paulson, married to the former Catherine O'Hara, Central City RD; Erna Louise, wife of Frank Glessner, Central City RD. Walter and Erna are operators of the Grand View Ship Hotel, Central City RD. Also, one grandchild, Mrs. Fred Gardner, Bedford RD 2; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Paulson operated the Grand View Ship Hotel until his retirement in 1953, at which time his children assumed operation. He built the hotel in 1931. He was a member of the Elks and the Moose lodges. Requiem Mass, Thursday, July 19, at 10 a.m., St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Robert C. Flaherty, O'Carm, with interment in the Schellsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received in the Mickle Funeral Home, Schellsburg, Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wake service will be held in the funeral home at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
