  PAYTON
  
  William Payton, 77, of Confluence, died Oct. 15, 1979, in Uniontown
  Hospital.  Born Nov. 20, 1901, in Dunbar, a son of the late Patrick
  and Martha (Wilson) Payton.  Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth
  (Lytle) Payton.  Survived by a son, William of Perryopolis RD 1; five
  grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Evans of Monessen.  Friends
  will be received after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Humbert Funeral Home
  in Confluence, where services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with
  the Rev. Arthur Gotjen officiating.  Interment, Addison Cemetery.
