Russell Peck, 90, of Aliquippa, formerly of Normalville, passed away Dec. 16, 2001, at Mariner West Hills Nursing Center, Moon Township. He was born May 2, 1911, in New Lexington, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Pletcher Peck. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a son, Richard R. Peck, in 1969, sister Ella Pritts, two brothers, Francis Peck and Ray Peck. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Sparks Peck; and a daughter, Janet Orourke of Glenwillard; two sons, Reed Peck and wife Nancy of Moon Twp., and Jay Peck and wife Patti of Aliquippa; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also, two sisters, Blanche Lenhart of Jenners and Violet White of Markleton. He was a retired crane operator for the Blaw-Knox Steel Co. at Aliquippa. In his earlier years, he was a machinist with the same company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and boating. He was a member of the Millertown Community Church at Indian Head. Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at The Clyde Brooks Funeral Home of Rt. 711 at Melcroft, where service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Kerry Johnson officiating.
